During a 5-1 loss to Keswick Christian on Thursday, Jan. 7 at home, Gold broke a three-game scoreless streak on a first-half goal scored by Jade C. Despite the score, it was one of the team's best played games of the season to date, with Elle S., Nadine S. and Georgia L. driving the ball downfield repeatedly, confidence in their skills growing by the minute. On defense, Ana Gabriela R. and Katerina A. continued to perform as the backbone of the team at sweeper and stopper, respectively, complemented on either side by Cennedi M., Meredith L. and Caitlin B. Katie J. single-handedly prevented two scores on defense. In goal, Dulci. B. stopped 13 of 17 shots on goals in 45 minutes and Rachel A. stopped the only two shots she faced in 15 minutes.
